Tribute within Mentorships

A tribute within the BDSMK lifestyle is an offering or “appreciation token” that the submissive -or mentee, in the case of mentorships- provides to the Dominant or Mentor in gratitude for their time, guidance and effort. This tribute is considered a sign of respect and recognition for the value that the Dominant or Mentor brings to the dynamic or learning process.

In a BDSMK mentorship, the tribute serves to balance the exchange between the Mentor and the mentee. The Mentor invests time, energy and knowledge to guide, teach and support the mentee in their development within the community; while the mentee uses the tribute as a way to recognize that investment, showing the serious commitment on their part and their respect for the Mentor's experience. Tribute is intended to reflect the Mentee's commitment to their learning process and recognize the time, experience, and resources that the Mentor invests in mentoring. After all, what’s mentoring if not private and personalized advice and guide?! Tributes received contributed towards Mentor’s development, learning, equipment, and most importantly, Their life expenses. A Mentee’s tribute is not a payment for an X amount on time of the Mentor’s day; it’s a recognition to Them for building Their life in such a way that They are able to bring to life the best in a Mentee’s inner self. It's a way Mentee showers with honor and gratitude the person who takes their knowledge and skills to make it look simple and natural.

Monetary Tribute

Monetary tribute is the most common type due to its versatility and simplicity. Money allows the Mentor to receive direct compensation for their time and resources. It is also a way to ensure that the mentee is committed to the process, since offering a financial tribute requires a level of investment and responsibility. Additionally, the money can cover costs associated with the mentoring process, such as educational materials, time spent, or specialized tools.

Tribute Fee

Tribute serves as a reminder of the mutual commitment within the mentorship, ensuring that both parties value and respect the learning space they shared. While tribute encourages Mentee’s discipline and responsibility it shows to the Mentor how appreciative of them the Mentee can be.

The amount, frequency or type of tribute it’s usually determined by the Mentor; in ALT’s mentorship program though, we made sure to take into account global economic conditions to ensure that the tribute is proportional and respectful of the circumstances of both, potential mentee’s and our Mentors.

Tribute can be reviewed in case the Mentee so requests it, or if the progress or nature of the mentorship changes.

- The first month of the 2 month trial period MUST be paid in full before the beginning of the mentorship.

- A 50% of the monthly tribute fee [$180] must be made at least 7 days before the signing of The Mentorship Agreement and the NDA. If such tribute it’s not made, the Mentorship will automatically be canceled.

- Once the tribute has been made, Mentee must send the receipt [screenshot, transfer receipt] to mentorship_program@alternativelifeteam.com

Commercial Exclusion

It is made clear that this mentorship is not a commercial service. The tribute DOES NOT grant the mentee rights to make demands regarding the mentoring process beyond what is agreed on between the parties, and does not affect the voluntary nature of the mentorship relationship.

Non-Traditional Tribute Options

Although monetary tribute is the most common form of tribute, there are non-traditional alternatives that can be considered, depending on the agreements. These may include:

✓ Tribute in the form of services: The mentee can offer specific services, such as tasks, assistance at events, or logistical support.

✓ Tribute in kind: May include material gifts, such as books, BDSMK-related equipment, or items of interest to the Mentor.

✓ Symbolic tribute: Some Mentors accept symbolic tributes, such as personal commitments, fulfilling specific tasks or improving in certain areas of personal development.
