Cigar Play
A not so well known within main pop culture, this it's a form of Sensory Play. Cigar play contains elements of discipline's high protocol and the eroticism and subtlety of sensualist plays. Wonderfully varied thanks to the introduction of different kinds of erotic imagery. In its full form, cigar play contains Power Exchange, Edge Play [fear play (fire & heat) and breath play], Censory Play [fire, heat, smell and taste] and Role Play [objectification].
The 4 basic sub-categories of cigar play are: 1) Servicing Play; 2) Heat Play; 3) Smoke Play; 4) Ash Play.
And it's stages are:
Wetting it. The Top uses the bottom’s body in some way to moisten the tip of the cigar. This allows them to engage into many levels of kink plays, like: objectification, service, or just raw sexuality. Is a Top’s prerogative to choose to moisten or flavor the end of the cigar [saliva, vaginal fluid, seminal fluid, semen, or even blood].
Cutting it. Traditionally this is done using a specially-made guillotine cutter or cigar punch, but a sharp knife is also a practical way to cut the cap off of a cigar. This stage allows the incorporation of elements of fear play into the scene, or to simply use a person’s preferred method of cutting as an act of service.
Burning it. While some cigar aficionados are very picky about how they light their cigars, the fact is that anything that you use in kinky play that involves flame could also be used for cigar play. This will depend on how purist players are.
Even though some people consider cigar play as a slow play, its sensual and erotic elements have been for a long time a favorite of hard-core kinky communities. Cigars have been a part of gay leather communities for a very LONG time. There has even been the creation of competitions to earn the title of “hot ash” at several events.
